Grace of Earth – Lenten Resource (Year A) 2020
Produced by the St Columban Mission Society, this resource explores these six Earth life support systems as ways of God revealing, God inspiring, God challenging. Meditate in wonder, give thanks at the beauty and complexity of Earth’s eco-cycles, reflect on the sadness and outrage at our human abuse, and ask for forgiveness and decide on positive action for change.
A free resource, with donations to the St Columban Mission Society greatly appreciated.
Plastic Free Lent
More than 8.3 billion tonnes of plastic has been produced since the 1950s. Plastic, particularly single us in one of the biggest ‘vices’ of humanity. Our friends at the Anglican Community Environmental Network have put together an excellent resource, with positive actions coupled with inspiration and teachings from the Gospel.
Although written to the 2019 Lent season, the resource is easily adaptable to 2020.
Notre Dame Lentern “Carbon Fast”
Lower your carbon footprint this lent. Produced by Notre Dame (USA), this resource covers 40 days of reflection and guidance for those who wish to pursue daily activities and challenges to both reduce their carbon footprint and increase awareness about the impacts of energy use. Based on the 2013 Lentern year, but easily adaptable use this Lent.
“Thinking about what you might do to get closer to God this Lent? Perhaps consider something that will get you closer to creation, too.” Alice Foddy prepares to go zero-waste for lent, sharing advice and inspiration over at Australian Catholics.
