Calling to mind that Jesus set us an example of serving others, let us pray for the clear-sightedness we need to discern who are most in need of whatever help and care we can offer them . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us
All: Lord, hear our prayer
As we remember the last meal Jesus shared with his friends, we pray for those who are facing the loss of people they love, through death or being separated from them - physically, emotionally, or intellectually
. . . (pause)
Lord, hear us
All: Lord, hear our prayer
We pray for those who – right now – are on the ground beside people whose lives are being torn apart by war, physical disasters, and civic strife in places in our world such as Darfur, Italy and Iraq . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us ,
All: Lord, hear our prayer
Let us pray for people in communities to which we belong, in our workplaces, and where we take time out for rest and relaxation, who will spend time and effort over the holiday period to keep those places safe, and our environment sustainable . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us,
All: Lord, hear our prayer
