General Intercessions
Today, churches in our country begin the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, which – this year – merges with the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians . . . (pause)
so, we pray to the Spirit to help us discover and develop what it is that ‘binds [us] together’, as followers of Christ, and people of faith, and so reach out to those who need care and support in our world . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us,
All: Lord, hear our prayer
Let us pray, too, for our indigenous sisters and brothers in communities facing social and economic struggles in sub-standard living conditions just outside Mt Isa, and for those who will work beside them to build a more secure future

All: Lord, hear our prayer
We pray for civilians in Sri Lanka and Pakistan whose lives have been disrupted by war, and for generations of Palestinian families living in refugee camps in Gaza, Lebanon and other countries in the Middle East, that they will soon have the safe homes most of us take for granted . . . (pause)
Lord, hear us,
All: Lord, hear our prayer
Let us pray for those where we live and work, and spend ‘time out’ with family and friends, who are setting us all a positive example by initiating eco-friendly ways of living in the environment we share . . . (pause)
