General Intercessions
Before we pray, let us pause, and honour the Cammeragal people - the traditional owners of this land on which we gather . . . (pause)
On this feast of Pentecost, as we remember Jesus’ promise to send an Advocate – someone to speak up for his friends – we pray for the strength to stand beside people who struggle to have their voices heard in our world . . . (pause)
Holy Spirit, Loving Spirit
All: Holy, Loving Spirit, come!
We pray for community leaders in our country, that they – too – will offer support to people who lack opportunities most of us already enjoy, such as employment, adequate housing, access to education and social acceptance

As we anticipate World Environment Day, next Friday – with its focus on uniting to combat climate change, we pray that our representatives preparing for the convention in Copenhagen later this year will find effective ways to keep our planet safe for future generations . . . (pause)

Let us pause and pray for peace – in our homes and workplaces . . . (pause)
