Today, on the United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and Peace, we pray that all women – in the church and in wider society – will enjoy the love and respect they deserve, as they continue to make an impact in so many lives

This Lent, we pray for community leaders everywhere, as they try to make social justice real in our world, by supporting people grappling with crisis, loss, and challenges, including people in Brazil – mourning the loss of their friend, Sr Dorothy Stang, who was killed there recently . . . (pause)

All: Lord, hear our prayer
Remembering times when – like the disciples in tonight’s Gospel story – we have experienced God’s strength and power in our lives, we pray for the determination we need to live sustainably in our environment, and to attract others to join us in this work . . . (pause)

All: Lord, hear our prayer
Let we pause, and hold in prayer women who have made a difference in our lives, prompting us to reach out to others in the coming week
